Three Things Every Child Should Know

These are a few of my ideas about what children need to know.

1. The Bible. If we don't teach our children the Word of God, we've left them completely defenseless in this world. I used to complain that children should have come with an owners manual. We have one. Everything pertaining to life is in God's Word.

2. Respect for Others. We are all made in the very image and likeness of God Himself. He knew us before He formed us in the womb, all our weaknesses and flaws but He loves us anyway. Each of us deserves respect, from the unborn to the aged.
Genuine respect and love for others will keep you humble.

3. Obey God and leave the consequences to Him. Ok, I borrowed this one from one of my favorite pastors, Charles Stanley but I love it. If they can learn to trust and obey God, they won't have regrets about things that should or shouldn't have been done.

Now, I'm very opinionated and these are just a few of my views. There are many more and I'll be glad to share them with you if you'd like!! Seriously there are so many things that children need to know and so little time to teach them. Model for your children what you want them to learn. They will pick it up. Have a blessed day.

  1. great post! I have written something similar for my son, as he approaches his 1st birthday... a few things I wish for him.

I will grab your button, and add it to my store feature! I won't have it up for a little bit yet, but I appreciated your interest. I checked out the store and it's great! I love the apron!

  2. Ok... gotta questions. I see that your button is the button for your blog. And you have that widget for your etsy store, which is probably what I will need. Will you be willing to give me your HTML code for that?
